FISH of Floral Park will hold its board of directors meeting on Sept. 9 at 3:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church at 35 Verbena Ave. (use Violet Avenue entrance).

The Bellerose Village Architectural Review Board will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 7p.m. at village hall, 50 Superior Rd.


Thursday, Sept. 10

The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce will meet on Sept. 10 at 12:30 p.m. at Jack Duggan’s Pub. Guest speakers will be Mayor Tom Tweedy, Police Commissioner Stephen McAllister and Fire Commissioner Kevin Fitzgerald.

The John Lewis Childs School PTA will meet on Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. The Floral Park-Bellerose School PTA will meet at 9:15 a.m. at their respective schools.

The South Side Civic Association will hold its meeting on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the recreation center.

Patriot Day

Town of Hempstead will host its 9/11 Memorial Service on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 a.m. at the town park at Point Lookout.


Saturday, Sept. 12

The Floral Park Lions Club will hold a flag rededication ceremony at Lion’s Park on Tulip Avenue at noon on Sept. 12.

Town of Hempstead’s 31st Annual Triathlon will be held on Sept. 12 at 8 a.m. at the town park at Point Lookout.


Sunday, Sept. 13

Grandparents Day

The Floral Park Historical Society will meet on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at the recreation center. Program topic “History of Magic Lantern Slides” will be presented by Regina Feeney, Vanessa Nastro and Cynthia Krieg. Admission is free, all are welcome to attend.
