Boys basketball camp and girls cheerleading will be the first camps, both of which begin on Monday, June 29. Kickball will be offered for the senior girls during week 1. Details can be found in the booklet or applications which may be picked up at the “proofing table” at the recreation center.

The youth tennis development program provides individual and small group instructions for boys and girls entering grades 4 through 8. The camp is designed for children with beginner to intermediate skills and incorporates drills, contests, video review, and singles and doubles play. Children learn the game, and the four consecutive days of instructions enable campers to improve their skill level at a more rapid pace. The daily times for this program are from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m. The fee for the four-day camp is $60 per child. There will be 10 sections for boys and girls in grades 4-8 at the 1 p.m. time slot, while there will be four sections at the 2 p.m. time slot for boys and girls entering grades 1 through 3.

The teen tennis program will enter its sixth year this summer. Teen players participate on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The basic format of the program is half hour of instructions, followed by supervised singles and doubles play. The program is culminated with a singles and doubles tournament the first week in August.

Adults will have an opportunity to register for the summer series of tennis lessons. This program is designed for both the beginner and intermediate level players, on Friday and Saturday mornings. Intermediate classes are scheduled from 8 to 9 a.m., and the beginners meet from 9:05 to 10:05 a.m. The fee for the six lessons is $60. The tennis adult program begins on June 19 and June 20. Interested residents may pick-up the registration form at the recreation center or in the shelterhouse. Roster spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
