Hance Family Foundation To Host Spring Events

The Hance Family Foundation mission is to help as many children as possible, in as many ways as possible. In keeping with this goal of making children healthy, safe and happy, the HFF of Floral Park has teamed up with another important organization, The Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation (http://www.la12.org/). The Acompora Foundation works to secure AEDs (automated external defibrillators), and the training to use them, for youth organizations. Together, these Foundations are working to train coaches in Floral Park in the use of these devices with aim of securing these devices for local leagues.

The HFF is hosting a large training session along with co-sponsor The Floral Park Indians. All trainers have donated their time and skills. Winthrop Hospital has donated 50 training kits complete with dummies and will have experts onsite teaching about important issues, such as asthma, concussions and more. Maybe some of this information, or one of these devices will be the instrument that keeps one more parent from losing a child, or one more child from losing a parent.  This important device can save lives and keep our loved ones safe.

Please join the training for all coaches on: Tuesday, April 12, from 7-9:30 p.m. at Village Hall Auditorium. It promises to be a night full of information! Please mark your calendars; there is no fee and refreshments will be available. All coaches need to do is register. At this time, registration is limited to 50 coaches. A waitlist will be kept and further information will be made available for those who cannot make it on Tuesday, April 12.

To register, email your name, email address, phone number and league association to: info@hancefamilyfounda-tion.org.

HFF Race with FP Youth Council

The Hance Family Foundation Race with Floral Park Youth Council will take place on Saturday May 21, 2011. This is an uplifting and inspiring race held to honor the memories of three beautiful young sisters to raise funds for the Foundation’s support of children’s endeavors and youth organizations. Join in the race and tour the streets of Floral Park Village. Waters stops, music and a live band line the course.

Printable registration form and online registration available at www.hance familyfoundation.org. This is a great goal to help get you back on your training program after this long tough winter.

After the race, come join Family Fun Day in Centennial Gardens beginning at 1 p.m. This event will be bigger and better than last year, with activities for the whole family. It is a celebration of love, family and community, three things embodied by the Foundation in honor of the Hance girls. The Foundation is in need of volunteers, to sign up email volunteer@hance familyfoundation.org. If you would like to donate items for the auctions, email donations@ hancefamilyfoundation.org.

New York Islanders/HFF Day—April 2, 2011

Islanders tickets are now on sale. Unbelievably, it has been a year since the Foundation last headed to Nassau Coliseum. The New York Islanders have invited HFF back for the second annual Emma, Alyson and Kate Hance Family Day. This year, Long Island’s hockey team is hosting the Carolina Hurricanes for what is sure to be a great game!

The Islanders organization has offered the HFF tickets at a much-reduced rate, and we are passing that savings on to you and your families!  Instead of using this event as a fundraiser, we are hoping to make it an affordable night out for you with your family and friends.  Each ticket price of $30 includes a Hance Family Foundation T-shirt (new from last year), a hot dog, water bottle and a bag of chips. The Foundation is also holding a family-friendly tailgate party beforehand complete with a DJ and games. Raffles that day will include game night prizes like Hi-Five the Islanders and a Fanboni ride.

Last year, more than 700 supporters came out to enjoy each other, the party AND an exciting game (finished right at the wire). This year, bring your family and friends, spread the word, and enjoy a Saturday night with the Hance Family Foundation! Call John 516-775-3030, or visit HFF website www.hancefami-lyfoundation.org for more information.
